In November The Film Lab will be at the Genesis Center on Mondays from 4:30 to 7:30 am. In a six-
week program we will approach the world of filmmaking. Camera and editing will be done on cell
phones with which we explore personal ways of audiovisual storytelling.
With Practices in framing, camera movement, distance and position of the camera and storytelling
techniques we’ll discover how to connect filmmaking and creativity with self-awareness, personal
initiative, and autonomy.
Creative self-awareness is the first step in filmmaking. How do we achieve that self-awareness? By asking ourselves questions like: where do I put the camera, how far is the distance between the camera and what I film, when I film what do I leave out of the frame?
