This fall, the Film Lab at Antyx will focus on the ability to adopt a way of seeing that is intimately related to our being. Through practical exercises, youth will explore how to see through the camera.
Practices in framing, movement, distance, colour, light, and storytelling will help connect self-awareness, personal initiative, and autonomy.
This 10-week program focuses on helping young people connect with the practice of filmmaking by exploring their place in the world and the ways they relate to spaces and people. Participants will understand how their way of seeing influences the world and their personal relationships.
We want to introduce youth to exploring film language and inspire access to the creative act as an
extension of our relationship with the world, ourselves, and others.
This process leads to self-affirmation, increased self-esteem and clarity of social thinking. Ultimately,
this program will empower youth to use creativity for social change and community engagement.
The program will culminate with a short film that reflects the process learned.
