With the help of both Genesis Centre and Central Library, Antyx Youth have a safe space to pursue their artistic passions and discuss meaningful topics of the day. Social emotional learning is an integral part of human development and early introductions of these concepts help Youth develop healthy identities and better emotional management. It is our goal that Youth feel heard, empowered, and develop authentic community connections while learning new artistic skills.
The Final Project
As Youth complete their final comic artworks through weeks 6-9, we will also discuss the fully realized Identities of our characters and the conflicts we are trying to resolve- thus connecting our artistic endeavors with social emotional learning. As a group, we will consider a Title that accurately represents the nature of our work. By the end of the Cycle, we will host a celebratory session and invite friends and family to read our final creations. Youth will then be able to take their physical copy home!
